How it works

Each sale carries a commission (5–8% non-Mall, depending on category), a transaction / service fee (4% Shopee, 4.5% Lazada — funds the marketplace's Free Shipping promo bundle), and a payment fee based on how the buyer pays (0% card, ~0.5% e-wallet, 1.5–2% COD). 12% VAT applies on the fee subtotal.

If you opt into the marketplace's free-shipping subsidy (Free Shipping Max / Sponsored Shipping), add the typical per-order amount you absorb (₱30–₱60). The calculator subtracts everything from the listed sale price and shows your true take-home plus an effective fee rate. Rates last reviewed 2026-05-22.

Frequently asked questions

Why do Shopee and Lazada take so much per sale?

Three fee layers stack: a category commission (5–8% non-Mall, 7–12% Mall), a service / transaction fee (4–4.5%) that funds Free Shipping promos, and a payment fee (0% on card, 0.5% on e-wallet, 1.5–2% on COD). On top of that, 12% VAT applies to the fees themselves. A non-Mall seller on COD typically loses 12–14% of gross sale to the marketplace.

How does the payment method affect my take-home?

Card payments carry no seller-side payment fee (the buyer absorbs any surcharge), e-wallet runs around 0.5%, and COD runs 1.5–2%. On a ₱1,000 sale, switching from COD to card saves you about ₱17 after VAT. Buyers love COD, so most sellers absorb the cost; but for high-AOV items, encouraging card or e-wallet meaningfully improves margin.

What about LazMall and Shopee Mall — should I upgrade?

Mall tiers charge 2–4 percentage points more on commission and add small certification fees, but they unlock higher visibility, badged listings, and (Mall-only) certain campaigns. For high-volume sellers in fashion, beauty, or electronics, the marginal traffic usually offsets the fee bump. For small or new sellers, stay non-Mall until you outgrow the visibility cap.

What is the 'shipping subsidy I absorb' input?

Free Shipping Max (Shopee) and Sponsored Shipping (Lazada) let you opt into the marketplace's free-shipping promo by absorbing a flat per-order subsidy (usually ₱30–₱60 depending on package weight). It's optional, but listings without it convert noticeably worse. Set it to 0 if you charge buyers full shipping.

Are these rates accurate?

They reflect the May 2026 published seller rate cards on both marketplaces. Both Shopee and Lazada have raised commission and service-fee rates twice in the past two years; verify against your current seller portal before pricing critical lines. All rates are editable in the panel above.

Does this save or transmit my data?
